Unified Communications Engineer (Minneapolis)

 


Description

This position is part of Avtex’s UC Solutions group, a provider to our clients for all things in Microsoft Unified Communications. You would be joining a nationally recognized team of UC Engineers, which includes collaborative efforts with our other practices such as Information Work, Contact Center, Application Development, Infrastructure and Notifications. As an Avtex UC Engineer, you will help implement Exchange 2007/2010 with Unified Messaging, Office Communication Server 2007 R2 and Lync 2010 on the Windows Server platform. You will be exposed to the entire Microsoft UC platform and asked to plan, delivery and maintain these systems.

As a Systems Engineer you will assist in maintaining the integrity, availability and security of our client's computing systems and infrastructure. As a member the Professional Services team, this position will be responsible for onsite and remote service delivery as a part of both projects and response to customer service requests. 
This position will work closely with Avtex Solutions Architects to determine requirements for new system capabilities and take responsibility for service delivery aligned with requirements. Systems Engineers help drive process improvement efforts by providing constructive feedback, suggesting alternatives and driving continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of technical and procedural activities to customers such as but not limited to: planning, designing, executing infrastructure technical projects
  • Proactively works with the engagements & project management teams on up selling and cross selling of services
  • Design customer solutions , of the Enterprise Size , that effectively leverage the technology vendors / partners products, programs and services within a number of complex customer environments
  • Focuses on more than one area of technical specialty and is to be considered a guru in those technologies
  • Working on Technical Development Program as assigned by direct manager
  • Delivering training to 'clients' according to the area of specialty
  • Scoping out detailed requirements from the ' client' and ability to develop the requirements into effective training deliverables (be it official vendor curriculum or custom)
